Description

A sculptor of materials and a tamer of the wind, Phia Ménard makes objects flutter here thanks to fans that breathe life into plastic puppets. Through a breathtaking ballet, these creatures take us on a journey from darkness to light. The action begins as night falls, “between dusk and dawn,” when our vision grows hazy. Above the circular stage, flying objects—anthropomorphic puppets and billowing landscapes of all sizes and shapes—perform a poetic and ethereal ballet, guided by the invisible forces of wind and music. Phia Ménard wrote *Nocturne (Parade)* while accompanying her father until his final breath. This tribute to a departed loved one is marked by Camille Saint-Saëns’s *La Danse macabre*, Gioachino Rossini’s *Overture to *William Tell***, and the aria *Der Hölle Rache* (The Queen of the Night in Mozart’s *The Magic Flute*). On stage, Life and Death are present, embodied as inseparable adversaries in perpetual motion. Thus, minds wander freely, emotions surface, and everyone lets themselves be carried away by the stories this parade evokes. Ages 8 and up. From 6 to 12 €
