The collections cover the entire history of wallpaper, from the 18th century to the present. This collection includes virtually every aspect of wallpaper production, from the most common to the most exceptional, such as the panoramic wallpapers Zuber, still made in Rixheim, across the street from the museum, which can be found, for example, in the Maison Blanche. By creating these extraordinary strips, more than two centuries ago, our ancestors wanted to break the too narrow walls of their daily universe. The Wallpaper Museum will be closed to the public from 25 October 2023 for a period of 12 to 24 months.
