Wallpaper Museum

The Museum of Wallpaper invites you to discover this mode of decoration. Through wallpapers dating from the 18th century to the present day, you will be able to admire its evolution.

The Museum

The collections cover the entire history of wallpaper, from the 18th century to the present. This collection includes virtually every aspect of wallpaper production, from the most common to the most exceptional, such as the panoramic wallpapers Zuber, still made in Rixheim, across the street from the museum, which can be found, for example, in the Maison Blanche. By creating these extraordinary strips, more than two centuries ago, our ancestors wanted to break the too narrow walls of their daily universe. Come dream in front of eleven of them that will take you from India to El Dorado

Please note !  Closed for renovation since 2023, the Wallpaper Museum will reopen in March 2026. This building complex, classified as a historical monument, is undergoing a restoration programme (roofs, frameworks, exterior woodwork, façades, etc.).
