The escape to the heart of art history offered by the Museum of Fine Arts begins in the 15th century with the magnificent Rheinfelden altarpiece. This is followed by the classical centuries represented by Brueghel, Boucher or Teniers.
The 19th century constitutes the strong point of the collections, with Boudin, Jongking, Géricault, Courbet or Bouguereau.
The Alsatian artists are also well represented, notably Jean-Jacques Henner to whom a room is dedicated.
The first floor rooms host the contemporary creation: internationally renowned artists are invited for temporary exhibitions, alternating with visual artists from the Mulhouse region.
