In Mulhouse with the family

Follow the guide!

You won’t have time to get bored in Mulhouse! There is no shortage of activities for all tastes. With animations adapted to the youngest, museums that will please the whole family and unmissable events, here are some of our good plans, not to be missed for anything in the world!

At the table… and to sleep!

A destination labeled Famille plus, Mulhouse takes care of the little ones. Accommodations adapted to the age of our little ones, equipped for babies and with indoor or outdoor play areas. The activities and entertainment will please your children and the family-friendly rates will satisfy everyone. Don’t forget the Familib service: it offers you to rent a car seat or a stroller by reserving them online and picking them up at the Tourist Office.
If you plan to visit the Ecomuseum of Alsace or the Little Prince Park, the Hotel Les Loges awaits you! It is located 18 km from Mulhouse and next to two tourist sites labeled Famille plus.
If you’re more of a camper, you’ll find your happiness at the Camping de l’Ill (with swimming pool and entertainment for young and old).

To enjoy a meal, you’re spoiled for choice: more of a brasserie, traditional cuisine or brunch? You decide which restaurant you will eat in. We love the varied menus, family-friendly prices and fast, efficient service so you don’t miss a beat in Mulhouse.

Outdoors in Mulhouse

For families who want to go green, the Zoological and Botanical Park in Mulhouse is for you. It’s one of the oldest zoos in France with 1,200 animals and a garden with more than 3,000 plants, no less!
Stay tuned for the slightest discovery: fun and educational, the park invites you to discover the enclosure of Malay tapirs, that of polar bears or even sea lions.

Don’t miss the Parc de Wesserling – Ecomusée Textile and its themed gardens nor the Ecomusée d’Alsace with its tractor rides in the heart of a reconstructed 1920s Alsatian village and its farm animals.

If you want to take a well-deserved break and relax under the trees, head to the numerous parks in Mulhouse.

Water is wet?

We dream about it when it’s hot… it’s water of course! The numerous pools, both indoor and outdoor, welcome you: the large leisure pools and other slides will delight your children. Don’t miss the Stade nautique de l’Illberg with its 5 outdoor pools and playgrounds open in summer. Don’t miss either the water plan of Reiningue 12 km from Mulhouse and its 25 hectares of nature or the aquatic space of Ottmarsheim.
And for those who don’t want to put their feet in the water, take advantage of the bike path that runs along the Rhone to Rhine canal.

Explore the museums!

In Mulhouse and its territory, children will never have enjoyed visiting museums as much. Head to the Cité du Train – Patrimoine SNCF and the largest railway collection in Europe. If you’re more into four-wheeled vehicles, the Musée national de l’Automobile – Collection Schlumpf awaits you to showcase its historic models of Bugatti and many other iconic brands. Lovers of two wheels and old-time mechanics will also appreciate the Grange à Bécanes in Bantzenheim: this museum will introduce you to a collection of 90 vintage motorcycles.
For families preferring hands-on experience, try out the Musée de l’Impression sur Etoffes and become an apprentice printer on fabric!

We’re having a blast in Mulhouse!

During a vacation, there’s always that moment when the kids clamor for their day at the park. We love the poetic and playful discoveries that can be made at the Little Prince Park with its attractions, in the image of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s work. For thrill seekers, the Olympic Rink will delight young and old alike for a unique moment of sliding. On Sunday mornings, there is even an ice garden adapted to toddlers.
In summer, long live Planètes Aventure for children aged 3 to 17, everyone does what they like! Nature, sliding, discovery, a vast choice of activities is offered to you, adapted to the age of our young people who sometimes also want to meet with each other. And if not, the largest indoor leisure park in the Haut-Rhin is located near Mulhouse: Big Little. On more than 3,500m2, you will find trampolines, escape game, laser game, kids park… to have fun with your family or friends!
Finally, for teenagers, the Kermesse Fair and its many thrill rides is undoubtedly the most awaited event of the summer!!

Festive events for the whole family

In spring, summer, autumn or winter, Mulhouse creates the event and dares you to get bored!
Winter is not sad in Mulhouse, the much awaited Carnival takes place every year in February or March. The atmosphere is very festive and the colorful floats will surprise you.
For board game lovers, discover Happy Games at the Parc Expo, it is in March. In June, you can admire the street-art in the streets of the city thanks to our tour: something to take in. Every Thursday in July and a little in August, the Parc Salvator comes alive and offers shows or movie screenings during the Jeudis du Parc. Don’t miss either Street Scenes where, for 4 days, the streets of the city are transformed into giant scenes: live unprecedented experiences!
But how to talk about Mulhouse without evoking its traditional and famous Christmas Market? The smell of gingerbread and mulled wine in the alleys of the Place de la Réunion make us dream. From the end of November to the end of December, take advantage of the numerous animations and in the Boutique aux Etoffes, discover each year the new Christmas fabric and share this joyful celebration with your family. If you are lucky, you may even cross paths with Santa Claus on the way.
