Description

Over the course of twenty years punctuated by rare occasions when all the generations come together, a family tells its story. Pascal Rambert explores the transformations of this rather bourgeois clan, driven by the younger generation and forced to confront the reality that the values that once united them are, one by one, being called into question. It’s rare in theater to follow the members of a family across multiple generations, both in terms of the story and the aging of the actors. Here is a wonderful opportunity to do just that, featuring, moreover, a first-rate cast: Marilú Marini, Jacques Weber, Anne Brochet, Arthur Nauzyciel, Stanislas Nordey, and Laurent Sauvage, surrounded by the younger generation of French theater. Two weddings and two funerals bring together three generations who cross paths, talk to one another, avoid each other, clash, lose touch, and find one another again. Despite appearances and harshness, legacies are also passed down—sometimes intentionally, often in spite of themselves. For Pascal Rambert, the passage of time allows us to speak of our actions free from all moral judgment, without a higher authority, without condemnation: our joys and sorrows, our hopes and sacrifices, and the consequences for our lives. For ages 13 and up. Only in French. From 6 to 30 €
