Blending physical theater, music, and stage writing, *Aux suivantes* takes us on a fast-paced journey through art history from a female perspective. While it explores the question of lineage—these forgotten women have something to pass on to the next generation—this performance is above all a passing of the torch so that we can all continue the fight together!
Juliette Steiner reclaims the missing legacy of female artists who are too little known, forgotten, or even robbed of their work. The show takes the form of a surrealist collage and reveals the richness we deprive ourselves of by telling only part of the story. Blending theater, visual performance, and improvised rap or punk concerts, the cast on stage plays with making the artists appear and disappear in a joyful interplay of echoes and resonances. In this way, they offer a visual journey through eras and references, inspirations and figures. Artemisia Gentileschi, Marina Abramovic, and Britney Spears are invited to the same table; the Guerrilla Girls cross paths with Brigitte Fontaine and prehistoric women… Their gestures, words, and life stories enter into dialogue with the questions and doubts of today’s actresses, women, and artists. All assert their uniqueness. Blurring the lines between eras, *Aux suivantes* calls for resistance through creation!
