In the Haut-Rhin, the Science Festival will kick off on the first evening of the event, known as Science Night. La Nef des sciences is organizing a “Pecha Kucha” that evening, in partnership with the University of Haute-Alsace. A… what? “Pecha Kucha” is a Japanese onomatopoeia that imitates the sound of conversation—it could be translated into French as “blabla.” Originally, Pecha Kucha sessions were very short (6’40) presentations of designers’ projects in the form of a 20-slide slideshow, intended to put an end to endless PowerPoint presentations. La Nef des sciences is adapting this concept for the Night of Science, with several researchers from the University of Haute-Alsace presenting a research project in just 6 minutes and 40 seconds! It’s a great way to stay up to date on the science being done today, right in our own backyard, in a fun and enjoyable format. An event co-organized by La Nef des sciences, the University of Haute-Alsace, and the city of Riedisheim. The Science Festival in the Grand Est region is funded by the Grand Est Regional Academic Delegation for Research and Innovation, the Grand Est Region, and the universities of Alsace. Free
