Description

In Mulhouse, the Electropolis Museum opens its doors for a week of discovery, sharing and accessibility. On the occasion of the Journées Nationales Tourisme et Handicap, this emblematic site - committed for many years to welcoming all kinds of visitors - invites you to enjoy a sensitive and enriching experience based on electricity. During your visit, let yourself be guided through the centuries to understand how this invisible energy has shaped our daily lives. From ancient times to the challenges of today, you'll explore its uses, developments and close links with industry, art and modern lifestyles. It's a fascinating immersion experience, to be enjoyed at your own pace. To take the experience even further, tactile guided tours offer a different approach to the museum. With the help of objects to manipulate and specially adapted mediation, you'll discover the collections and their stories in a whole new way. Designed in particular for groups and specialized structures, these tours offer a genuine opportunity for exchange and understanding, accessible from an early age. Throughout the week, the museum also invites you to take a fresh look at visual disability. In collaboration with the École de Chiens Guides de Cernay, an original workshop will give you a better understanding of the daily lives of visually impaired or blind people, and help you discover the essential role of guide dogs in their autonomy. An educational, humane and inspiring highlight. Families, too, can enjoy an immersive experience thanks to an adapted sensory tour, in which touch becomes a real guide to exploring the museum's treasures in a different way. Finally, in the reception area, let yourself be surprised by a series of revisited tales. Inspired by well-known tales, they take a sensitive and accurate look at the issues surrounding disability, while shedding light on the history of disability and the evolution of support services over time. Between scientific exploration, sensory experiences and human encounters, this week at the Musée Electropolis invites you to change your outlook and share an accessible, curious and profoundly human moment. Free for disabled people and their companions.
