Heritage Days: Rediscover the Wallpaper Museum

  • Open house
Musée du Papier Peint, 28 rue Zuber, 68170 Rixheim

Description

After nearly three years of closure, the Rixheim Wallpaper Museum reopened its doors in July 2026 with a revamped exhibition. In the machine room, discover the history of wallpaper manufacturing techniques and uncover the secrets behind block-printed panoramic designs. In particular, you’ll be able to admire several of these spectacular designs that contributed to the fame of the Zuber Manufactory in Rixheim. On the first floor, continue your visit with “One Collection, Three Perspectives.” Get a behind-the-scenes look at the collection restoration project carried out during the museum’s closure, trace the history of wallpaper, and explore spaces where the works are showcased through a dominant color. Patterns, colors, craftsmanship, and designs that are at times surprisingly modern: let yourself be captivated by the richness and timelessness of the museum’s collections. Free
