Description
You may or may not be familiar with the name Engelmann, but did you know that Godefroy Engelmann (1788–1839) of Mulhouse, his sons, and his successors, in collaboration with the finest artists of their time, lithographically printed what were likely several thousand plates to illustrate all kinds of works—some of them luxurious—from the first half of the 19th century, including titles published by Engelmann himself, such as *Selected Fables by La Fontaine* or *A Picturesque Journey to Brazil*?
