  • Visits to companies/artisans
MOTOCO, 11 rue des Brodeuses, 68100 Mulhouse

Description

Step into David Mey’s workshop and discover how a thin sheet of wood can be transformed into a light fixture with delicate shapes. The designer works with three-dimensional wood veneer, playing with its thinness and transparency to let light shine through and create warm, inviting atmospheres. The tour takes you behind the scenes of the manufacturing process, from discovering the raw material and its preparation to the various stages of shaping and finishing. David Mey reveals his unique craftsmanship and a production process carried out entirely on-site. The tour continues in the showroom, where you can see the light fixtures displayed in real-life settings and fully appreciate the interplay of light created by the wood. All of this takes place in a setting that’s well worth the visit: the workshop is located in the heart of the former DMC factory, an iconic site of Mulhouse’s industrial heritage. 2 €
