Michel Kelemenis answers these questions by igniting a blazing fire stoked by seven performers who are also the choreographer’s longtime collaborators. Exploring the embers… What was first stoked sometimes smolders for a long time before reigniting much later! Here, seven dancers burst into flame in a defiant reimagining of gestures long forgotten, preserved as emotions in the tens of thousands of spectators’ gazes. The choreographer entrusts his performers with a legacy of dances so that, through the metamorphosis of their personal stories, the fire of a new poetic vitality may be reborn. Between moments of joy and astonishment, the artists transform this blaze into an energy that generates dazzling splendor. BRAISES calls for a transfiguration.
