Confé' Soirées - At the Museum of Printed Fabrics, the story of a pillage

  • Conference

Description

Hélène Poizat and Pierre Freyburger will tell you the story of a major and historic looting operation in Mulhouse, that of the Musée de l'Impression sur Etoffes, at a conference on Thursday November 12 at 8pm. April 2018 sees the discovery of mass disappearances at Mulhouse's Musée de l'Impression sur Etoffes. The museum's director falls to his death from a ladder while trying to change a light bulb, and the conservation officer disappears, only to be arrested a few weeks later. In 2026, the investigation is nearing completion, but the trial is still pending. From now on, we're talking about organized theft. But what really happened in this museum? How could it have been emptied of its oldest and rarest pieces, part of Mulhouse's industrial heritage, for almost twenty years? Join us for a discussion with Hélène Poizat, a journalist with L'Alsace who has covered every event at MISE for almost twenty years, and Pierre Freyburger, co-authors of the graphic novel: MISE À SAC. A refreshment bar will be open throughout the evening to quench your thirst. Single rate: €5
