Following the minimalism of *Fratres* (a piece with no defined instrumentation, performable by three soloists or an entire orchestra), *Frozen in Time* presents itself as a geological snapshot, imagining the moment when the supercontinents emerged from Pangaea. Percussion, led by the marimba, takes center stage in this score characterized by raw power and mysterious sounds. Scheherazade stands out for its sensuality.
