Every year, Staffelfelden's carnival brings a joyous, family-friendly atmosphere to the heart of the village. Heir to the great potash mining era, it perpetuates a popular tradition dear to the hearts of the inhabitants, enthusiastically supported by the municipal sports and cultural office.
At 2:11 p.m. precisely - because a carnival never starts at an ordinary time - the grand cavalcade will set off from the town hall on rue des Mines, watched by the mayor, who will kick things off. From 1:30 p.m., the Place de la Mairie will be transformed into a whirlwind of costumes, colors and music as the participants gather.
Nearly thirty positions are expected: colorful floats, lively Waggis and Gugga Musik groups, local associations mobilized to celebrate, the royal court of the Mulhouse carnival, representatives of Rhineland carnivals, not forgetting the emblematic Staffala Rutscher, the town's carnival performers. You'll also have the pleasure of discovering the new queen, her dauphines and the prince of the Staffelfelden carnival.
The procession will reach the Salle de La Galerie at around 4:30 p.m. for an explosive finale. With a confetti battle in front of the hall, and a wild atmosphere inside with the bands, Gugga Musik and the twirling group, you're in for a festive and unifying experience.
And to extend the fun, the Carnival bar will be serving snacks - sandwiches, pretzels and other delicacies - as well as drinks to toast this wonderful tradition together.
Whether you're a costume enthusiast, a fan of Rhineland traditions or simply looking for a festive Sunday to share, let yourself be carried away by the energy of the Staffelfelden Carnival. Come and applaud, laugh, dance... and, above all, take part.
