Located close to both the German and Swiss borders, La Filature Scène nationale - Mulhouse is a cultural venue quite unique in its genre. Built in 1993 by Claude Vasconi on the site of a former cotton factory, it also houses the Orchestre Symphonique de Mulhouse and also hosts the Opéra national du Rhin.
La Filature consists of: a Grande Salle with 1 216 seats, a Salle Modulable which can seat up to 360 spectators, rehearsal studios and a photography exhibition space which is in constant use.
There is also a Mediatheque run by the city of Mulhouse, specialised in the performing arts.
