Hiking in the Vosges Mountains

Mulhouse is only 1 hour away from the Vosges mountains. By car, or even by train, don’t hesitate to go for a walk or even a hike in splendid landscapes.

The Vosges Mountains are a beautiful place to hike, offering stunning scenery, well-maintained trails, and a unique variety of flora and fauna.

You’ll see breathtaking views of the surrounding forests, lakes, streams, the Alsatian plain, and even the Alps on a nice day. You’ll find trails for all levels of hikers, from beginners to the most experienced. And if you’re going for a day trip, don’t hesitate to make a reservation at a farm inn to try the famous marcaire meal!

Useful information

To access the Vosges mountain hikes, you can either take your car or the TER train that will take you to Thann or Kruth.

Every weekend from June to September and every day from 1 July to 31 August, take the Navette des Crêtes (shuttle) up to Markstein from Mulhouse station.

Ticket: €4 (reduced rate: €2 on presentation of the Fluo card, day/family pass for 2 to 5 people: €10, free for children under 4). Passengers travelling by train can board the shuttle at no extra cost on presentation of their TER train ticket dated that day.
