From Mulhouse, we advise you to follow the bike path that leaves the train station along the Quai d’Oran and follows the Canal du Rhône au Rhin. Once you pass the last houses at the level of the commune of Brunstatt, you will arrive in a slightly wilder area between Zillisheim and Illfurth. You will pedal or walk next to flowery spits that encourage you to stop and watch the (rare) barges, families of ducks or wild geese go by… If you walk at the end of the day, the colors will sublimate the landscapes.
When you arrive at the guinguette, you will discover an unusual place and out of time, decorated with beautiful mottled objects. To eat in the evening, it is better to reserve your place because the locals know this address well and go there willingly. But by coming in the afternoon, you can also enjoy a nice slice of home-made pie, such as the specialty: rhubarb meringue pie.
