Two masterpieces are on the program for this new Archets Types season: Dvorák's Serenade for Strings Op. 22 and Schostakovich's Chamber Symphony Op. 110a (orch. Barchaï). Free admission.
Based in Habsheim, the string orchestra "Les Archets Types" is an ensemble of 22 musicians founded in 2025, bringing together professionals and amateurs with a passion for the string repertoire.
At its head is Stéphane Cattez, a viola graduate of the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles who, in parallel with his career as a professional violist and teacher, has developed a particular musical culture, enriched by his long practice as a chorister (tenor), conductor and wind instrumentalist (euphonium).
Today, he directs "Les Archets Types", an ensemble born of his own impetus and that of a few professional friends. With their support, he carries out in-depth and demanding work in interpretation and the search for color, guided by the pleasure of playing together and sharing a repertoire sometimes little known to the general public.
