Lerchenbal - Folk ball

  • Ball/dance/music
Lerchenberg, 11 rue du Cercle, 68200 Mulhouse
Come and dance the night away to the sounds of bagpipes, fiddles, guitars, accordions, hurdy-gurdies and other instruments played by the 2 groups on the Lerchenberg stage.

First up are Bruno and Maria, on accordion and clarinet, a refreshing duo of imaginative and creative traditional folk dances. Their music is described as "powerful, sentimental, mischievous, music for the heart, for the feet, and for feeling good".

Continuing the circle, you'll find the Quatr'Quart band of friends. Treated and re-treated without mercy, their folk moves. From Ireland, Brittany, Sweden, Flanders, Auvergne or Alsace, it resonates like the strings of its variegated instruments. In these lace-up roots, the tunes are mixed with jazz, rock and Latin.

For novices wishing to learn the basics before getting into the swing of things, we offer an introductory dance class from 7.15pm to 8pm before the ball.

Of course, you can also relax with a drink between dance steps at the refreshment bar, or enjoy a homemade dessert.
