Today, forensic medicine goes beyond the legal sphere to shed light on history and archaeology. Thanks to paleopathology, the study of skeletons, mummies and relics reveals the conditions of life and death, as well as autopsy and embalming practices of past centuries.
At this meeting, a dozen historical figures will be presented, who have been subjected to the laboratory's scrutiny: from Lucy to Hitler, via Richard the Lionheart, Saint Louis, Robespierre, Marat and Henri IV.
The talk will be led by Dr Philippe Charlier, Director of the Anthropology, Archaeology, Biology Laboratory (LAAB) at the UFR Simone Veil - Santé (UVSQ / Paris-Saclay).
Reservation by email or telephone. Only in French
Gratuit
