Founded in 1046, Oelenberg Abbey has seen kings, monks, wars and revivals come and go. Today, it invites you to step inside for an exceptional and historic tour! For the very first time, areas previously closed to the public are now open to visitors.
Follow in the footsteps of the Trappist monks and discover the abbey church, the cloister courtyard, the Saint-Léon IX chapel and other iconic spaces of monastic life.
This tour is much more than a simple heritage tour: it is an immersion in a place vibrant with history and emotion, which continues to live on through monastic and local crafts.
Since the departure of the last monks in June 2024, the abbey has been given a new lease of life. Listed as a Historic Monument, it continues its mission: to preserve its heritage and pass on its know-how.
