This year, the Union Musicale de Pfastatt wind band celebrates an exceptional anniversary: 140 years of shared music, passion and transmission, from 1886 to 2026!
This gala concert will mark a high point in the ensemble's history, as it will be the last concert under the direction of Jean-Marie Naegelen and Olivier Boehringer. After many years of commitment, projects and lively music, a new page will be turned with Séverin Lambert and Axelle Ruffenach, who will take over the direction of the orchestra.
To make the evening even more symbolic, an appeal was made to all Jean-Marie's former musicians and students. Many have responded, and will be joining the band for this anniversary concert, reviving the spirit and richness of all those musical years. More than 50 musicians will be on stage - the first time this has happened in many years!
The program will pay tribute to this journey by revisiting outstanding works, including those Jean-Marie has particularly enjoyed conducting in recent years: Best of by Lady Gaga, Lord Tullamore, Stairway to heaven, a piece by Jacob de Haan (a must!!!) and a Gershwin medley. There will also be a number of new releases: Persis, For a few more dollars, Aurora Borealis, Balkan Dance... for a musical journey that is both nostalgic and resolutely forward-looking.
A photo retrospective will also allow you to (re)discover this history in pictures.
