Description
A Journey Through Time – 97th Anniversary
In a world where time flies by, why not take a moment to press ‘pause’ and step into a time machine for the duration of a weekend?
You might encounter a few dinosaurs, mammoths, members of lost civilisations and a knight on his trusty steed; discover the early days of printing and the automobile; set off on an expedition and make a stopover in the Wild West; enjoy new inventions such as the cinema, the aeroplane and the wheel; and perhaps even set out to conquer space...
The twelve flower-covered floats designed by artist Eric Ball offer you an express journey through time. Parades, brass bands, musical and folk ensembles will also be on hand to immerse you even further in these slices of the past.
On Saturday 8 August, we look forward to seeing you:
From 4pm: entertainment in the town centre
At 6 pm: daytime procession – preceded by a vintage car parade at 5.45 pm
At 10 pm: night-time procession – preceded by a vintage car parade at 9.45 pm
On Sunday 9 August, the festivities will continue on a smaller scale with an exhibition of the 12 floats, folk entertainment on Place de la Victoire, and the Children’s Square...
Free admission / Open gallery: €20 for the 2 parades, €12 for one parade / Covered gallery: €25 for the 2 parades, €15 for one parade
