Exposition : Et la lumière fuse

Once again, Mulhouse's Temple Saint-Étienne welcomes and reveals some forty works by Elisabeth Bourdon for the exhibition Et la lumière fuse.

The creative process remains faithful to that of two years ago: illuminated LED panels superimposed with three colored, painted and transparent layers.

This artistic approach explores light, color, memory and the bond between people.
Light, by its very nature changeable, always raises questions: what kind of light is it when it is captured? Morning or evening, season or weather? It is never more than the echo of a fleeting moment. The 30 x 30 cm paintings invite you to play with the quantity and quality of the light source, varying its reflections and nuances.

The paint allows light to pass through it, filtered or spurting out, according to the cracks and fissures. Wefts of color intertwine with slides, reproductions of works of art from our collective memory and common cultural heritage.

The play of superimpositions questions the link. The encounter - chosen or random - of cellulose films opens up a new space, new colors, an indefinable presence. In this in-between space, a dialogue takes shape, a field of possibilities where the unspeakable, the impalpable, emerge.

Each work can be discovered differently: lit or unlit, observed from near or far. It's up to you to vary your approach and renew your experience.
