The SolHimal association is organizing an exhibition and sale of Himalayan handicrafts at the Salle des Adjudications, Mulhouse.
SolHimal is an Alsace Lorraine-based non-profit organization set up in April 1988 to support Tibetan refugees, the Tibetan culture in Nepal and the Nepalese people.
It works through the sponsorship of children, students, religious and elderly people, as well as through development projects linked to food sovereignty, such as the construction of greenhouses or the establishment of orchards in remote regions of Nepal.
This exhibition features a wide range of original items made by Tibetan and Nepalese craftsmen. Buddhist objects, thangkas, cushions, hand-knotted pure wool rugs, cashmere scarves, Himalayan teas, natural incense, jewelry, bags, rice paper items, Himalayan clothing, singing bowls...
It's also an opportunity to find out more about the association and meet its volunteers and sponsors.
Profits from sales will be donated to a project to build greenhouses in the Dolpo region of Nepal, enabling 100 families to provide for their vegetable needs.
