Jean-Philippe Blondel is the author of over thirty novels, in both adult and children's literature. He is a high school English teacher in his native Troyes. His third novel, "Un été 79", published by L'iconoclaste, appeared in April 2025.
Jean-Philippe Blondel is, in his own way, a portraitist of everyday life. He tells life stories, as in "Le Baby-sitter", "Mariages de saison" and "La Mise à nu". He also delivers more intimate tales, with "Un Hiver à Paris", or more recently, "Traversée du feu", a touching autobiography that evokes his cancer, but above all his desire to live. Blondel's writing is always limpid and luminous, even in the midst of tragedy. His texts are also firmly rooted in their time, describing through the stories of his characters the society in which they evolve. Such is the case in her latest novel, which plunges readers into a family story set in the heart of the summer of '79...
