Installed since 1969 in the former City Hall, a Renaissance building dating from 1552, the Historical Museum is one of the jewels of Mulhouse’s heritage. It is a major interest of the visit of the city.
In 1874, when the museum opened, the collections consisted of 664 objects, today they count several tens of thousands! The museum plunges you back into the singular and fascinating history of the Republic of Mulhouse, while introducing you to the art of living of the Alsatians of yesteryear, from the Neolithic period to the 19th century.
