The Cité du Train, SNCF Heritage Museum in Mulhouse has celebrated its 50th anniversary!
Formerly known as the French Railway Museum, the establishment has been welcoming the public since 1971 and sharing with them the incredible epic of the railroad, whose particularity is to tell us at the same time about France, the French people, and the territory.
Through its unique collection of rolling stock, models, railway objects, posters and art objects, the Cité du Train thus bears witness to two centuries of railway history in France – from the first steam locomotives to the TGV – and today stands out as the largest railway museum in Europe.
