Exhibition: WAX! Akwaaba wo Ghana!

  • Exhibition
Musée de l'Impression sur Etoffes, 14 rue Jean-Jacques Henner, 68100 Mulhouse
Enter a vibrant universe where fabrics tell stories. Conceived by HEAR in collaboration with anthropologist Anne Grosfilley, and co-produced with Mulhouse's Museum of Printed Fabrics, this exhibition invites you to rediscover wax, a fabric with multiple origins - Asian, European and African - that has become a symbol of elegance, identity and expression.

In Mulhouse, where know-how and cultures are woven together, young designers trained in Alsace are taking over a global textile heritage. The exhibition thus becomes a bridge between tradition and creation, between the memory of fabrics and contemporary imagination.

From rare collections to daring works, we invite you on an unexpected journey - from workshops to colorful markets, from rituals to demands, from Ghana to Alsace. Here, wax is revealed in all its richness, far from stereotypes, as a veritable "fabric of elegance", the bearer of stories and encounters.
