Pulversheim

With 2,900 inhabitants, the village of Pulversheim is located at the centre of the potash field and encompasses a total of 856 hectares. Potash mining greatly contributed to the development of the village.

The population went from 260 to 675 inhabitants thanks to the opening of the Rodolphe Mine in 1928, and it is still growing.
Even though town planning and business zones are developing, the village is still considerably dominated by natureal areas, forests, orchards, agricultural areas as well as the River Thur and its swamps located in the north east of the village.
Close to the major roads, Pulversheim is a very attractive village thanks to its restaurants, shops, an exceptional sports complex and the Ecomusée (open-air museum) that draws approximately 300,000 visitors each year.
