From February 19th to 21st 2010

The Carnival is a time-honoured tradition in Mulhouse, making it the «liveliest town in France» between 1920 and 1935. The Carnival became somewhat lacklustre in the wake of World War Two until 1953 when a group of leaders of local associations decided to liven it up and update it. The colourful, humorous floats made by over a hundred local associations illustrate aspects of local and national life. Every year visitors from all over Europe come to this lively, popular event which features festivals, shows and parades.
