Situated in the outlying suburbs of Mulhouse, Lutterbach is a lively, dynamic town of 6,000 inhabitants that strives to preserve its identity and protect the quality of its environment.
The first written record of Lutterbach dates back to 735 and the town has three centuries of farming, wine-growing and brewing behind it. Proud of its ancestral traditions, the town also has a dynamic, modern outlook.
As part of a project to preserve is historic heritage,the town council has restored a number of its buildings including the old brewery and the mill of the 16th-century soap factory, which is now the CINE (Nature and Environment Learning Centre).
Lutterbach enjoys an exceptional natural setting, with four streams and the nearby Forest of Nonnenbruch. It also has excellent transport facilities and is conveniently situated near major roads and motorways.
